Browse and Learn Terms of Service

Agreement

By installing or using the Browse and Learn Chrome extension and related services ("Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Description of Service

Browse and Learn provides in-page word translation and language learning features (e.g. tooltips, pronunciation) via a Chrome extension that communicates with our backend. Access may be subject to a free trial and/or paid subscription.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old and able to form a binding contract. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.

Account & Security

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

Subscription & Payment

• Trial: We may offer a free trial. Terms (e.g. duration, conversion) will be shown at signup.
• Paid subscription: Fees, billing cycle, and renewal terms are shown before purchase. By subscribing, you authorize us (via Stripe) to charge your payment method until you cancel.
• Cancellation: You may cancel in the extension or via the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation stops future charges; we do not refund partial periods unless required by law.
• Price changes: We may change prices with advance notice; continued use after the change constitutes acceptance.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Violate any law or third-party rights.
• Use the Service for abuse, fraud, or to overload our systems (e.g. automated scraping, bypassing rate limits).
• Resell or redistribute the Service without our permission.
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code or data beyond normal use.

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms.

Intellectual Property

We own the Service (code, design, branding). We grant you a limited license to use Browse and Learn for personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms. You do not acquire ownership of any of our IP.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS." WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES (EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY), INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. TRANSLATIONS ARE FOR LEARNING AID ONLY AND MAY CONTAIN ERRORS.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE (AND OUR AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS) SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or costs (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or breach of these Terms.

Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA. Any dispute shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware. You may also have rights under consumer protection laws in your country.

Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version and, for material changes, notify you (e.g. in-app or by email). Continued use after the change constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.

General

• Entire agreement: These Terms (with our Privacy Policy and any subscription details) constitute the entire agreement.
• Severability: If any provision is held invalid, the rest remains in effect.
• Waiver: Our failure to enforce a right does not waive that right.
