Be precise about the two jobs

Language Reactor focuses on video: Netflix and YouTube with two subtitle tracks, clickable lines, and saved vocabulary from captions. That is a real product, and it is the right tool if your study time is shows and essays-to-camera.

BrowseAndLearn does not do that. There is no dual-subtitle player, no Netflix integration, and no claim that we “also work on YouTube like Language Reactor.” If that is what you searched for, stay there.

What we do: you open a normal website. Useful words get a highlight. Hover for the meaning. Keep reading the original page. That is closer to a reading overlay than to a video classroom.

When each one fits

  • Language Reactor — you learn from shows, essays, and captions. You want both languages on screen at once.
  • BrowseAndLearn — you learn from articles, documentation, and blogs. You want a few words marked, not a second transcript.

Price here is a free week, then $5 a month, cancel anytime. Language Reactor’s own pricing and plans live on their site; this page will not guess at them.

Languages on this side

Twelve languages paired with English: Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and Arabic in both directions, plus Hebrew as English → Hebrew. Spanish is the flagship pair.

What this is not

It is not a Language Reactor clone, a subtitle file editor, or a claim that BrowseAndLearn is “better for Netflix.” For a click-to-translate web reader, see Readlang alternative. For the plain use case, see learn vocabulary while browsing.

Questions

Does BrowseAndLearn replace Language Reactor?

No. If you want dual-language subtitles, clickable captions, and Netflix or YouTube as the classroom, Language Reactor is built for that. BrowseAndLearn does not add dual subtitles to video.

What does BrowseAndLearn do instead?

It highlights useful words on regular web pages (news, blogs, docs) and shows a translation on hover. Chrome stays in English. Twelve languages paired with English.

Can I use both?

Yes. They do not fight over the same surface. Video in one, articles in the other is a normal split.
